Now in its ninth year, the Disobey hacker conference has earned a truly legendary reputation in the industry. Disobey brings together leading cybersecurity experts from across the Nordics and serves as a meeting place where companies look for talent, partners and actively compare service providers.

That is exactly why this year it was finally time for Netox to join in – to learn, to listen and above all to engage in conversations with fellow professionals. Fourteen netoxians took part in the event.

Our key message at Disobey was simple: Cyber is IT. We wanted to highlight a straightforward idea – cybersecurity is not something separate that is added on top of IT. The two are inseparable. When the foundations of IT are solid, security stands on stronger ground as well. This message sparked numerous discussions among both experienced professionals and younger attendees.

Encounters, Conversations and Cybersecurity

From morning until evening, we had the opportunity to engage with people both during the official program and beyond it. Our stand welcomed visitors throughout the event, and discussions quickly moved beyond surface-level topics. Questions were asked directly, viewpoints were challenged and experiences were shared openly.
Although several excellent presentations were delivered on stage, the true value of the event lay in the encounters. Many attendees approached us after the talks to reflect on how the themes presented could be applied within their own organizations.

Three topics in particular stood out in conversations:

Trust: Organizations want to know who they are building cybersecurity with and how the work is reflected in everyday operations.
Situational awareness: There is strong interest in understanding what is truly happening within one’s own environment and what needs attention right now.
Responsiveness: How quickly vulnerabilities can be addressed and risks brought under control.
These discussions demonstrated that cybersecurity conversations are becoming increasingly concrete. The focus has clearly shifted from general principles to practical capabilities and execution.

Growing Recognition

We went to Disobey with a clear objective: to ensure that Netox is recognized as a credible alternative for IT and cybersecurity services. Based on the event, we can confidently say that this objective was achieved.

There were numerous encounters, and many discussions extended far beyond their originally intended time. We also met with existing customers and built new connections with industry professionals and members of the wider community. These are precisely the kinds of interactions that make events like Disobey meaningful.

Many people also stopped by to discuss career opportunities. This reflects not only the open spirit of the event but also the interest sparked by our work and our team. It is always rewarding to see that kind of engagement.

Thank You, Disobey

Disobey is an important community event, and we are genuinely grateful for the opportunity to be part of it. Events like this remind us how important it is to meet face-to-face, have open conversations and share ideas with like-minded professionals.

It is also a privilege to work with a team whose energy and expertise come through so strongly in every encounter. We can honestly say that we truly enjoy what we do – and it shows. Above all, it was a pleasure to spend Valentine’s Day with this amazing community.

This was our first Disobey, but it certainly will not be our last. We will continue to participate actively in industry events and communities. If any conversations were left unfinished, feel free to reach out – we would be happy to continue where we left off at Disobey.
