The Finnish Information Security Cluster (FISC) today announced that 13 of its member companies have joined forces to donate €150,000 to support Ukraine’s cyber defense capabilities. This unified industry initiative comes during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s official visit to Helsinki last week.

The donation represents a commitment from Finland’s cybersecurity sector to stand in solidarity with Ukraine amidst ongoing challenges. It will provide crucial resources to strengthen Ukraine’s digital infrastructure and cyber resilience.

“As representatives of Finland’s cybersecurity industry, we recognize our responsibility to support those defending their digital sovereignty,” said Peter Sund, CEO of FISC. “This collective donation from our member companies demonstrates our industry’s commitment to European security and our solidarity with the Ukrainian people during these challenging times.” The participating companies include F-Secure Oyj, WithSecure Oyj, DNV Cyber Oy, Loihde Oyj, SSH Communications Oyj, Insta Oy, Silverskin Oy, Fraktal Oy, Netox Oy, Granite Oy, Selfhack Oy, LAVSecurity Oy, Jetico Oy.

President Zelensky’s visit to Helsinki has highlighted the strong relations between Finland and Ukraine, with defence cooperation being a key focus area. Finland, known globally for its expertise in cybersecurity, continues to provide both humanitarian and technical support to Ukraine.

“Finland’s cybersecurity expertise is recognized worldwide, and we believe this contribution will make a meaningful difference in strengthening Ukraine’s digital resilience,” added Toby White, CTO at F-secure. “As cyber threats continue to evolve globally, international cooperation becomes increasingly vital.”

A spokesperson from the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland expressed gratitude for the initiative: “This generous contribution from Finland’s cybersecurity industry comes at a critical time when Ukraine continues to defend against sophisticated threats. The support demonstrates the strong partnership between our nations and reinforces Ukraine’s resilience. This collaboration is particularly meaningful during President Zelensky’s visit to Helsinki, highlighting the deepening ties between Ukraine and Finland in all domains, including cybersecurity.”

FISC and its members remain committed to supporting international cybersecurity collaboration and will continue to explore ways to contribute to global digital security initiatives.
