Artificial intelligence has quickly risen onto the agenda of every organization. Companies are running experiments, building pilots and looking for ways to use AI in their business. The next major question is how organizations can ensure that the AI solutions they use are visible, controlled and aligned with regulation as well as business goals.
That is why Netox is adopting ServiceNow AI Control Tower together with international technology partner Synechron. Netox estimates that it is among the first organizations in the Nordics to implement the solution.
“Everyone is talking about artificial intelligence and running AI projects. But when AI is scaled into production, the decisive factor is that it is done in a controlled and secure way,” says Mikko Pöyry, Vice President responsible for IT Services at Netox.
Scaling AI requires visibility and control
ServiceNow AI Control Tower makes it possible to identify the AI agents and AI solutions used within an organization, monitor their use, ensure compliance and assess the value they create.
In practice, it is about knowing which AI solutions the organization is using, what data they can access and how their use can be guided. At the same time, the solution helps prioritize AI initiatives in a way that makes sense for the business.
“The benefits of AI are not realized through experiments alone. Value is created only when solutions become part of everyday work and their impact on the business can be demonstrated,” Pöyry says.
An international partnership brings Netox to the forefront
Netox is implementing the solution together with Synechron. Synechron is an international technology company known especially as a partner for major financial sector organizations in demanding technology, AI and transformation projects.
The aim of the collaboration is to build a solution that works in Netox’s own service provider environment. This makes the project exceptional, as AI Control Tower is primarily designed for internal organizational use. Netox and Synechron are building it in an environment where services are delivered to multiple customers.
The project will provide practical learnings on how AI governance can be brought into a modern service environment and later also into customer use. In practice, AI governance means that a company can monitor, guide and document the use of AI so that it meets requirements such as those set by the EU AI Act.
Towards a new AI governance service for customers
For Netox, AI Control Tower is not only an internal development project. The implementation supports a broader goal of building a new type of AI governance service that enables customers to manage the use of AI without having to build everything from scratch themselves.
As AI is adopted more widely, organizations must be able to respond to new requirements. These include regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, data governance, visibility into AI agents and measuring the business value of AI solutions.
Netox wants to turn its own implementation into an example that helps customers adopt AI more boldly and more securely. When governance, visibility and controls are in place, AI can be developed faster without risks growing out of control.
“Our task is to help customers use new technology in a way that supports the business and stands up to the demands of everyday operations. AI Control Tower is an important step in that direction for us,” Pöyry concludes.
